Assets test

Centrelink uses whichever test gives the lower pension. Reducing assets below $314,000 or income below $5,512 gets you the full rate.

Deeming. Centrelink assumes your financial assets (super in pension phase, cash, shares, investments) earn a deemed rate regardless of actual returns — currently 0.25% on the first ~$62k ($103k couple) and 2.25% above that. The "assessable income" figure above should include the deemed amount plus any earned income from work.
